Land Art Lives participants free to Sachi Miyachi exhibition at Art Museum M.

Kunstmuseum M. is the initiator of Land Art Lives. Kunstmuseum M. also organizes exhibitions at M. point on the former Floriade site on the Weerwater in Almere. Until December 22, 2024, Come and Play – Practising Optimism by artist Sachi Miyachi is on display there. We invite all those interested in Land Art Lives to visit this exhibition. By showing a Land Art Lives ticket, you can visit the exhibition for free.

Eleventh andscape artwork will not go ahead

Earlier, Sachi Miyachi was asked by the Municipality of Almere to design a land art work in relation to the Weerwater, the central lake in Almere. It could have been the eleventh land art work of the Land Art Collection in Flevoland. Unfortunately, this plan ran aground due to college changes and associated money flows. Fortunately, the plan for this exhibition did come to fruition: with Come and Play – Practising Optimism, she developed a large wooden installation with a playful golf course, where visitors can hit a ball themselves.

Staying Optimistic

Come and Play – Practising Optimism consists of a golf course that invites you to play along yourself. In seven holes you pass all kinds of large and small obstacles: from a mountain made of shredded Almere building plans (like her plan for the landscape artwork) to wind machines and a floating island. Among other things, the artist used leftover building materials from De Floriade in 2022 in Almere.

The golf course represents the obstacle course that life sometimes is. No matter how old you are and what game you play, an airy attitude always comes in handy. When you miss, you can always try again.

Come and Play – Practising Optimism is open Friday - Sunday from noon - 6 pm.
The address is Melica 200, 1325 WZ Almere.

Upon presentation of the ticket confirmation from the mail, Land Art Lives visitors have free admission through December 22.
